Read: Psalm 148, Exodus 33:18-23, 1John 1:1, Psalm 104:1
Reflect: And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. And the Lord said “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. “So it shall be, while My glory passes by; that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. “Then I will take away My hand and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen. (Exodus 33:18-23 NKJV)
The God of heaven is willing and waiting to reveal Himself to us. Our desire, as well as our capacity to receive and reflect the glory (goodness) of God determines what we see. Moses wanted a revelation of God. He wanted God to reveal Himself. He wanted to know God more deeply. God in essence said, “I will let you see as much of me as you can bear.” The result of the revelation which the Lord gave to Moses caused “the skin of his face to shine.” Exodus 34:29-33.
Jesus came to live among humanity not only to die as our substitute but to give the world a revelation of the infinite love of the Father. He came to our world in the form of a little baby boy, born in obscurity and poverty. His glory was veiled in the life of the Christ child. He constantly made efforts to reveal the Father’s glory by random acts of kindness in His day to day living. Love, mercy, and compassion were revealed in every act of His life. God has made Himself known in and through the Son, Christ Jesus – the exact representation of the invisible God. For many, like Moses, who desire to see his glory, God will reveal himself.
Every day we experience the goodness of God, but often we are blind (oblivious) to His goodness. If one really wants to see God’s glory, then the first step is: be attentive and look for it. Learn to appreciate the small cameo appearances of His goodness. As we become more appreciative, our capacity for greater revelations increase. The more we see of His glory the greater will be our reflection of His character (glory).
“And the Lord passed before him [Moses] and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,…’” Exodus 34:6-7. This is the fruit (life experience) that God desires from His people. In the purity of their characters, in the holiness of their lives, in their mercy and loving-kindness and compassion, they are to reveal the life of Christ within.

Reflection:
As we move on beyond this Advent Season, am I available to reveal God’s glory to the world?
What changes and/or decisions will I need to make to have the capacity for more of God?
Prayer: Oh Jesus, as much as I can bear it, show me Your glory, then help me to reveal Your glory to others.
